What's in a name...

I've been toying with the idea of event planning for about six months. I'm almost 23, I've graduated college (BA in Religion, Major in Counseling Foundations) and I work at a shoe store. The obvious conclusion is that I would head into event planning, right?

Okay, so it's not an exact science, this whole "figuring out what you're meant to do" thing, but I think I'm headed down a good path now. I realized how great it would be if I had an excuse to do artsy, crafty, DIY (do it yourself) type things all the time, I'd get to help people make events that SHOULD be special even more so (and hopefully on a budget).

I was thinking about how I could get this started and what I should call my "business" (if it ever gets that far) and I realize I'll need licensing and I'll have to check copy rights and all that stuff but for now, we'll go with this.

I was riding the bus and thinking about things that go along with weddings and things that go along with me. I know I'm probably not the only Becca out there who has been called "Beccaboo" or "Boo" all their life, but it's true to me. Mom and Dad and most of my family have called me Boo for as long as I can remember. Mom used to say, "Can I have a Becca Boo Bear Hug?" and Dad even went as far as to call me "Booskarooni" or "Boosk" (but I don't think that will look very good on a business card).

So there it is. "Something Boo" evolved into "Something Borrowed, Something Boo" (we didn't want people thinking I specialized in Halloween) and I started the blog.

Pictures from Family Thanksgiving will be up soon!
